About DiPauls – 1996 - Present

In December of 1996 Paul closed Barker’s Camera Shop but continued to work at managing and brokerage of the owned property. Today we rent our building to Chico’s in the downstairs portion while the upstairs is rented out to an appraiser with other office space still available. By January of 2001 Diane’s bosses had sold their franchise of 25 McDonald’s Restaurants and at that time Diane retired and joined Paul as Building Owner. We both are at home with our dogs; all live inside our home with us. Our home is on 2 acres of land, fenced (8 ft high in back and 6 ft high in front). There is a 70 ft x 40 ft pen in the back along with a smaller 6 ft x 8 ft pen. Now in 2008 we are under construction of a new kennel building that will provide the dogs with the freedom of various paddocks and runs along with racing and playing in the yard. |
| For many years Paul had been expressing a longtime love he had for the Borzoi and began reading everything he could find – yearbooks, etc. In one of the yearbooks there appeared Ch Rising Star Mariza Forevr Amber and it was "love at first sight"; the quest for an Amber son began. After contacting Nadine Johnson of Rising Star Borzoi in Colorado Springs, after many phone calls and having met with her, Nadine made a male puppy available and invited us to travel to Colorado to see him and have him if we so desired. This pup was from her BIS MBISS CH Rising Star Auroral Tanquery x CH Rising Star Mariza Forevr Amber. Cody (at age 6 months) came home to live with us – it was 1997. Cody is now officially known as – CH Rising Star Conquistador CGC.
Our good friend, Barb Booher of Sonnenschein Shorthairs had a litter on the ground from her beautiful MBIS MBISS CH Sonnenschein’s Paisley Print and sired by CH Lieblinghaus V Sonnenschein - "Travis" (Travis owned by Barb’s sister, Betsy Yates). Annie (at age 10 weeks) came to live with us – it was one week after we brought home Cody. Annie is now officially known as – CH Sonnenschein’s Echoes From The Past. Cody and Annie grew up together, are quite bonded and good friends. So much so that at times Cody forgets that he is a Borzoi and takes on the "sporting breed" personality! |

| Our Irish Setters, Kelly and Patrick, were at the Rainbow Bridge and it was now the right time to bring an Irish Setter puppy into our lives. We contacted Lynne Mehring of Shangrila Irish Setters in Michigan. We had been waiting what seemed to be "forever" for a puppy bitch from the beautiful BISS CH Rusticwood’s Love Song - "Molly", but to no avail. However, Molly’s son BIS BISS CH Rusticwood’s Running Mate ROM - "Albert" had been bred to CH Shangrila Annie Laurie JH ROM and Lynne had puppies available. Amy (at age 8 weeks) came to live with us – it was 1999. Amy is now officially known as – CH Shangrila Antigua. |

| We received a telephone call from Nadine Johnson one day asking us if we would be interested in another of her Borzoi. She had a puppy bitch available from her WORLD AM BISS CAN CH Rising Star Danilov O’Sunbarr JC x MBISS CH Rising Star Nofretary. Danielle (at age 8 months) came to live with us – it was 1999. Danielle is now officially known as – CH Rising Star On The Wings Of A Dove.
A year and one half later, we received a telephone call from Lynne Mehring asking us if we would be interested in another of her Irish Setters. Paul had been wanting a male setter and seized the opportunity. I believe that at that time Lynne knew that she would herself be leaving for the "Bridge" and she was making available to us one of her pick pups from the breeding of her CH Rockherin Shangrila At Last, ROM - "Luke" x CH MiJean’s I’ve Got A Secret. Paddy (at age 12 weeks) came to live with us – it was 2001. Paddy is now officially known as – CH Shangrila Can’t Keep A Secret. "Lynn, we miss you so very much!" In 2003 Sharon & Steve Dattilio of Shomberg GSP contacted us inquiring if we would consider breeding Annie to their Marco ~ CH Shomberg's Browning Citori who has Award of Merits from two Nationals (1999 & 2001) and went WD at the 1997 National. He has earned the honor of the GSP Title of All Time Top Producer. Of course we said "Yes" and had a litter of 7 German Shorthaired Pointers ... 2 have gone on to obtain their Show Championships (one of those champions is our Lance) and another his Rally Excellent title, his CD (Companion Dog) Obedience Title, a TDI (Therapy Dog International) title and a Canine Good Citizen title. We have frozen semen on Lance. In 2015 we bred our homegrown borzoi girl CH DiPauls Calamity Jane ~ Cali to her grandfather (via frozen semen), CH Rising Star Conquistador CGC, producing two puppies, one boy and one girl... DiPauls Buffalo Bill Cody ~ Cody Jr and DiPauls Annie Oakley ~ Annie II.
