| It was September 1997 when we drove across country to acquire our first borzoi from Nadine Johnson of Rising Star Borzoi. We were traveling with our German Shorthaired Pointer, Brigitte, and two of our Irish Setters, Kelly and Patrick. Our other dogs, Bonni and Max had to stay home at the kennel. Brigitte and Kelly were both getting up there in years therefore we did not want to leave them home and Patrick was having more and more health issues and could not be put in a kennel. Nadine welcomed all of us to her home and was a wonderful hostess! | Not too long after we arrived, Nadine brought the 3 puppies (5 months old) from her Tanqueray x Amber litter into her family room There they stood – Centurion, Conquistador and Celeste. Paul was sitting on the couch on the other side of the room, which was quite a distance away. It was “Love At First Sight” between Conquistador and Paul. When Cody saw Paul that very first time he ran across the room, leaped through the air and landed on Paul’s lap saying “I’m yours forever” ! Cody is a loving and gentle boy who we enjoy both as a “couch potato” and as a Special. He is a much-adored member of our family! |
