Photo-Shoot At The Cleveland Public Library ...

The Western Reserve Kennel Club (WRKC) makes a large yearly cash donation to The Cleveland Public Library (CPL) for them to use in the purchase of dog books.   After so many years of this purchasing, the CPL now has one of the largest selections of books and dog registers in the country.  The head of the CPL called us to say the that Library wanted to do a photo shoot with a professional photographer at the library as a type of “acknowledgement and thank you” to the WRKC for making it possible to build such a large selection of books on dogs.

They wanted to depict that libraries ARE THE PLACE to go with CHILDREN and DOGS. They were hoping to get a variety of dogs (about 3 breeds) to come down to the library to be photographed with children.  Being that Paul was the Club’s Librarian he was asked to help set this up.  He called our good friend Karen Thier who has borzoi and she said “yes” she would come and bring “Enya” (one of her female borzoi) and her 10-year-old daughter, Kayleigh.   The borzoi is always impressive because of their large size; and … picturing children with large dogs is always good for the breed and “dogs with children”.  We also brought Amy, our Irish Setter and Annie our German Shorthaired Pointer which would provide a variety of breeds.  The photographer took many pictures of the children and dogs amongst the aisles of books.  The girls were thrilled to pet, kiss and hug the dogs – showing that dogs can be well-behaved, gentle and friendly
