Our sweet Annie left us March 16th for the Rainbow Bridge. Annie shared our lives for 13-1⁄2 years; she was a happy, loving, energenic dog. She grew up with her borzoi buddy Cody. Now she is with him running in the green fields at the Bridge. We miss you, Annie, you will be forever in our hearts.
Dear little Annie, we miss you so very much your always happily wagging tail, your energy, your spinning up and down the stairs, your extremely good nature, your obedience and willingness to please, your cuddly warm body sharing our bed …. most of all YOU and YOUR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE !!
We remember discussing many times with our good friend, Barb Booher, that we so very much wanted to have a Paisley girl puppy and that day arrived when Paisley gave birth to her 3rd litter (out of Travis) on July 15, 1997. We had 3 girl puppies to choose from Barb was kind enough to let us have first pick, even over herself as she felt all three were equal in quality. We sat there on Barb’s couch holding and cuddling the babies and having oh such a difficult time choosing. Watching them run and play with each other, having Barb stack them choosing was not an easy decision. Then one of the pups ran under Barb’s bed playing “hide and seek” and being a brat yep that’s the one we wanted.
At 10 weeks of age when Annie came home to her new home with us she was greeted by our new 6-month old (and first) borzoi, Cody, along with our other (older) shorthairs and setters. Annie and Cody became very bonded and we believe that Annie actually taught Cody how to become a “sporting dog” !!!! They would play and run together with him towering over her, but yet ever so gentle. Being only 3 months apart in age, they had a lifetime together.
Annie became a show dog to be Proud of …. she had breath-taking movement finishing her championship easily with most of her points and both of her majors won from the puppy classes. One of those majors, a 4-point, was won by going Best of Winners at the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Ohio Specialty out of the 9-12 Puppy Class ! She easily became a Show Champion by age 2 years and then retired from the show ring.
At age 6 years she was bred to Steve and Sharon Datillio’s “Marco” Ch Shomberg’s Browning Citori, a solid liver male, and produced seven pups. That is how Lance and Vera came to live with us. From that litter of pups two have become Show Champions and another has earned the performance titles of CD RE CGC TDI.
Annie lived to be 13-1/2 years old. She was active and happy up to her last day. She passed away on her own terms ……. We miss you sweet girl, we have huge holes in our hearts, but you will live on in our hearts forever. This house is just not the same without you !!!
Loving and Missing You…..
